Wes Fulford brings over 15 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, asset management and cryptocurrency to Viridi Funds. As the former CEO and Director of TSXV-listed Bitfarms Ltd., Mr. Fulford led the company to 291% operational growth in 2019, cementing Bitfarms’ position as one of the largest publicly-traded cryptocurrency mining companies globally. In July 2019, Bitfarms successfully completed a Canadian public listing and became the first cryptocurrency company to have a Canadian listing cleared by the Ontario Securities Commission. Under Mr. Fulford’s vision and leadership, Bitfarms established itself as a vertically integrated, ESG-focused and institutional grade cryptocurrency miner, complete with a “big four” audit partner.
Mr. Fulford has been a regular presenter at leading North American and global conferences, including premier events hosted by Coindesk/Consensus, Bitcoin Magazine and the Toronto Economic Forum. Prior to joining Bitfarms, Mr. Fulford spent 12 years in investment banking and asset management primarily based in Toronto, Canada. Most recently, Mr. Fulford led the Fintech and Financial Institutions investment banking practice for Desjardins Capital Markets. During his career as an investment banker, Mr. Fulford has been directly involved in financing and mergers and acquisition transactions valued at over $7.2 billion. Mr. Fulford is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
Ethan Vera started in asset management, helping to manage pension plans and investment funds for the Royal Bank of Canada. Prior to that, he was an Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs, where he covered the blockchain, fintech and semiconductor industries. He has advised on a number of cross-border Asia M&A (sell-side, buy-side, take private, private placement) transactions across the TMT, Industrials and Energy industries.
David Khalif graduated with a double major in finance and business analytics from the University of Kansas. After completing his degree, Mr. Khalif worked as a financial analyst completing a two-year finance rotation program at Microsoft. The structure of the program included working with four different finance teams for six months each. David has completed a rotation in Cloud Finance, Investor Relations, Sales Finance, and in Microsoft’s real estate team.
